Green Dop Wax 4 sticks
Premium Green Dop Wax | High-Strength Lapidary Sealing Wax
The gold standard for precision faceting and cabochon cutting, our Green Dop Wax is engineered for maximum adhesion and structural stability. This high-temperature jewelry wax is specifically formulated to provide a rock-solid bond between your gemstone and the dop stick, ensuring your stone remains perfectly centered and secure throughout the entire grinding and polishing process.
Key Features
Superior Hold: Formulated with a high resin content to provide a “rigid” grip. It resists the lateral forces and vibrations of high-speed faceting laps.
High Melting Point: With a softening point of approximately 65°C – 70°C (150°F – 158°F), it remains stable even during friction-heavy polishing that can melt softer red waxes.
Minimal Brittleness: Unlike cheaper waxes, our Green Dop Wax is balanced to be hard enough for precision but resilient enough to avoid shattering if accidentally bumped.
Clean Release: Designed to “snap” clean when chilled, leaving minimal residue on your finished gemstone or dop stick.

Why Choose Green Over Red Wax?
While red wax is excellent for heat-sensitive stones or general cabbing, Green Dop Wax is the professional choice for faceting. Its higher melting point and increased hardness ensure that the stone does not “drift” or “lean” as it gets warm during the final polishing stages. This stability is critical for maintaining perfect meet-points and symmetry in high-end gemstone cutting.
Professional Application Tips
Pre-Heat the Stone: Always warm your gemstone slightly on a wax heater or dop lamp before applying the wax. A cold stone will “shock” the wax, leading to a weak bond.
The “Mushroom” Technique: Apply enough wax to create a small “shouldered” support (like a mushroom cap) around the base of the stone for maximum lateral stability.
Removal: To remove the stone, place the dop in a freezer for 5–10 minutes. The difference in contraction rates will usually cause the stone to “pop” off cleanly with light pressure.
